Where the Emodicon lives

What is an Emodicon?
Emoticon: A little design created with characters from the keyboard. Originally created back in the 70's somewhere on some nerd's laptop over in a collage no one wants or likes anymore so that he could get some at night....

Emodicon: A new 21st century aproach to the Emoticon that was designed almost dirrectly and specifically for Web Boards and Forums. These are what we use here, and these are the purpose for this sight.

What is the purpose for this sight?
The purpose for this sight is apecifically for Emodicons. I got tired of using online forums all of the time and being forced to use their Emodicons, not the ones I like to use. Mostly, I made this site specifically for my friends who like to use Web Boards and Forums. However, if you came across this sight somehow without being told about, than good for you! Go ahead and bookmark it and use it to your hearts content, I have no problem with that. (nor can I have a problem with that...lol. Keep reading...)

Are there terms of use? A fee? A membership? What do I need?
Well, simply put to answer most of those: No. All you need is a mouse, and a forum to put the Emodicons into. Other than that, mabey a keyboard if you want to type, but who wants that with speach recognition now adays? (::snicker snicker::)

How did you get all of these?
I have gone around myself and selected Emodicons from various sources around the net. This way, my friends, you, and I, will all have a way to acess them hassle free. (semi-free, cuz as we know, there really is no true 'Freedom' in this world now is there?....)

Aren't you afraid of being pegged for theivery?
No. I am following all the rules I know of for something like this. I have thought this through, and am still doing so now. The main thing you need to know (in case any of these Emodicons are yours...) is that I DO NOT host any of these emodicons on this site at all. (In fact, there is NOTHING on this site server except text.) I actually remotly link to these little Emodicons since they are still nothing more than 21st century pictures. (hehe.)

Aren't you afraid of the Hosts of the servers coming after you for trying to remotely link to them?
No. (again, no...) This is the main thing I have thought of, for the most part anyway. Here is my policy: "Should you be the owner of any of these Emodicons, and you dont want me to have them here for others to acess, than e-mail me as soon as you can! I dont want Hosts and people screaming at me or anything. Don't worry, I will comply with your demand to take it off. Of corse, there is a quick catch (simple really.) If you are the Host, wanting me to take it off my site, than please--tell me the name of your website so that I can find all of the pictures in my massive list (that is still growing) and remove all of the pictures that you own. The reason I do this is because I dont want idiots trying to e-mail me trying to be the Host of a server, and making me take it off when they dont have the right. This is only for proof that you are the Host. In general, a few simple e-mails will solve everything, so please, dont get mad, I will comply eventually if you are the host.

Can I use these Emodicons on my website? (or something else other than a forum?)
Not with my permision, no. Obviously, like I have said before, I do not own, nor retain any rights to, these cool little Emodicons. Should you want to do this, than just simply go to the Host and ask them.

Finally, I take no credit or responsability of any of these past the creation of this site to gather these Emodicons.

Welcome to the Repository, Have a nice visit:

How do I use these in a Forum?
Easy. Simply right-click on the picture. (or, if your lacking a multi-button mouse for a reason of which does not need to be said here...hold down the 'Control' key and click on which one you want.)If your Using Internet Explorer, than it should say in the contectual menu "Open Image in New Window." Select that and copy the web address up top in your browser's bar. If your using Netscape, than simply select "Open Picture in New Window...," or whatever is the equivelant. I myself use Netscape 7, and I.E. 5.2. Both are the same thing in those menus. (okay, not exactly...)

A quick HTML lesson
In order to use these, you will need to be in a forum that allows HTML. (Only way I know how to put it up, as UBB code doesn't seem to like me very much....) Don't worry if you dont know HTML, as I will teach you a fast lesson that will allow you to use these pictures. Make sure you have the capability of HTML, or else this will just show up as text.

1)To display and Image in HTML code, you must insert the following: <img src="XXXXX">

2)In that template I just gave you, select the X's, (all of them.) and paste the browser address that you took from the picture. (to get the adress, look above. I explain it best I can.)

3) Now, if you havn't already typed it inside of your forum, copy it and paste it into the forum. Here is an example: I take the Template:
<img src="XXXXX">

and insert my Emodicon address with the X's:
<img src="http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/grin.gif">

Now, I paste it, and finish my post! (send it...):

Anyway! Thanks for visiting! And if you have ANY questions, give me a buzz!
